Afternoon at the Pond

This serves as my Rule of Thirds project. I took the picture on the farm, as with my earlier photographs. Practicing this principle made me look at photos in a new way. I set up the photograph to have the sky take up the top third of the picture. Also, objects of interest (the dock, tree reflections) are located in adherence to the Rule of Thirds. It really makes a difference when things aren’t constantly centered!

  1. Chrissy, This is a beautiful photograph of your farm. This picture would also qualify for the reflection assignment by the trees' reflecting in the pond. All this time, I thought a centered picture was the correct way to shoot, who knew! My pictures are coming out so much better now that I am using the rule of thirds. Good job on your picture!

  2. Chrissy,
You did an excellent job on this picture with the trees reflecting in the pond and the rule of thirds. I think the digital divas are becoming future professional photographers.
    Way to go, Girls!!!

  3. Chrissy,
This is a fabulous photo. Like you I never would have tried to take it with the dock to the side if we hadn't taken this class. You need to frame this photo in your home. Great job!
