Double Exposure Project:: "My Sunshine"

Here is my double exposure project. I combined a picture of a rainbow with a picture of my darling little Ella. I used the "overlay" function in PhotoShop to create the double exposure. It is titled "My Sunshine" because that's exactly what she is! :)

Project #3: "The Mill"

This photo contains several textured objects (rocks, water, wood, etc.) to meet the requirements of the project. It was taken at Starr's Mill in Fayette county with my Nikon D40 and edited in Photoshop.

Ambiguous Space Project: "The Benz"

This photo demonstrates ambiguous space through extreme cropping. The Mercedes symbol is shot at an extremely close range and then cropped even further in PhotoShop. The photo is in black and white to give the "antique" effect and represent the age of the car.

Afternoon at the Pond

This serves as my Rule of Thirds project. I took the picture on the farm, as with my earlier photographs. Practicing this principle made me look at photos in a new way. I set up the photograph to have the sky take up the top third of the picture. Also, objects of interest (the dock, tree reflections) are located in adherence to the Rule of Thirds. It really makes a difference when things aren’t constantly centered!

Transformed Bricks

This is the photo that I chose for my Transforming Objects project submission. The photo was taken using a Nikon D40 and edited in PhotoShop 7.0. I took this photograph at my in-laws' house; in fact, this shot is one side of their house and was taken from the bottom of the staircase leading up to the upper level of the house. I used a unique angle to give the feeling of “looking up” and used a close-up strategy to hone in on the pattern of the bricks in order to meet the requirements for the photograph.

Transforming Objects Practice

This project has been a challenge for me. I have been very indecisive as to what I should do. Here are some of the photos I shot and edited in PhotoShop. I will post my project in a separate blog entry.
